of the 10th Moscow International Exhibition «PHARMTECH 2008»

On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the opening of the 10th Moscow International Exhibition «PHARMTECH 2008»!

Pharmaceutical industry is one of the most efficient sectors of the Russian economy. Even in conditions of instability at world financial markets, it is still strong enough. Provision of Russian citizens with high-quality and safe medicines is the top priority of the state social policy. Solution of this task is impossible without the development of domestic pharmaceutical production.

To satisfy demands of the health care industry and provision of Russian pharmaceutical market with medicines, production of Russian medicines complying with the international and national quality standards becomes of the highest importance. These are the tasks we put forward for the industry in the programme developed by the Ministry «Development strategy of the pharmaceutical industry for the period up to 2020».

I am confident that Pharmtech will become not just an efficient professional ground for the demonstration of world achievements in the field of pharmaceutical technologies, but will also give an opportunity to companies in Russia to enter a new quality level of medicine production.

It is a pleasure to mention the international Forum run within the exhibition to discuss new development trends of the industry and exchange of expert opinions.

I hope that conditions for a constructive dialogues developed by the organisers will allow participants of the Forum obtaining the best possible effect of attending it.
