A plant has opened in Ryazan Region that will manufacture pharmaceutical products.The developers have already obtained finished products, which have undergone testing and certification, said Oleg Kovalyov, the governor of the region, during a briefing earlier this week.

At a government meeting devoted to problems of health, education and housing in Ryazan Region, the governor said that Vladimir Putin had included Ryazan Region in a target programme to develop the pharmaceutical production industry.

"In Ryazan Region, it is planned to build a large company with almost a thousand highly skilled jobs. And the developers already have finished products that have passed testing and certification. We just need to build the plant and begin producing Russian medicines, including flu drugs. I showed samples to Mr Putin, he was interested in this idea and supported my request, giving the order to include this project in the programme," said Oleg Kovalyov.
